Barbara J. Billings

A Memorial Talk for Barbara J. Billings, 71, of Massena will be held on Saturday, January 18th, 2020 at a time to be announced at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Massena.  Mrs. Billings died on January 9th, 2020 at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg.

Arrangements are under the direction of LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.

Barbara J. Billings was born on September 12, 1948, in Mason City, Iowa.  She was the daughter of the late LuVerne and Ruby (Severson) Helgeson.   On November 28th, 1969 she married William R. Billings in Kensett, Iowa, the couple would celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this past Thanksgiving Day.  Barbara worked as a substitute teacher and was self-employed as a house cleaner. Barbara was an avid Quilter, she enjoyed watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and Cooking shows.  She enjoyed watching her grandaughter, Sky, figure skate and see her participate in competitions and her yearly skating show. She also enjoyed seeing the progression of both her grandaughters artwork.

She is survived by her husband William R. Billings, her children; Jake Billings and his wife Jennifer of Milwaukee, WI and Amy Banker and her husband Joe of Massena.  She is survived by her grandchildren; Andi Billings and Amy Sky Capozzi, both of Massena.  Her brother Benni John Helgeson of Spring Valley, MN also survives her.

She was predeceased by her parents LuVerne and Ruby Helgeson and her brother Robin Helgeson.
