Carol J. Hunt, 71, of Brier Hill, died on October 14, 2013, at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. A memorial mass will be on, Friday, October 18, 2013, 9:30 am; at St. John's Church, Morristown, with Father J. Seymour officiating. Burial will follow in the Black Lake Cemetery, Black Lake. There will be a gathering at Lang Brook Meadows, 95 Hamel Rd., Brier Hill, following the burial. Carol is survived by her daughters, Leslie A. and husband Kevin C. Hockey, Brier Hill, Lori L. and her husband Shawn Mix, Henrietta, , grandchildren, Jessica Hockey, Allison Hockey, Colin Mix, Owen Mix, a brother, Richard and Marsha Sweet, Alamo, Texas, her Aunt Barbara Ward, Harrisville. She was predeceased by her son Thomas Hunt. Carol was born on June 24, 1942, the daughter of Kenneth and Dorothy Cole Sweet, in Harrisville at home. She graduated from Harrisville Central School in 1960 and then graduated from the Watertown School of Commerce in 1962 with a degree in business administration. She married James Hunt on April 28, 1962 at the United Methodist Church in Harrisville; he died on January 22, 2000. Carol was a business administrator at the A. Barton Hepburn Hospital, worked at Perretta Packing, and P&C. She and her husband James owned and operated Jim's Long Branch, in Brier Hill till 1986. Carol was a member and former chief of the Brier Hill Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a parishioner of St. John's Church, Morristown and prior to that Our Lady of Grace in Brier Hill, and she was a parent reader in the Parents as Reading Partners program at Morristown Central School. Carol loved spending time with her grandchildren, playing cards with her dinner pals, reading, traveling, spending time on the St. Lawrence River, fishing, boating, admiring the sunsets, watching and listening to the loons.
