Hazel L. Giltinan, 90, of Ogdensburg, died on November 28, at her home. A memorial service will be on Sunday, December 7, 2014, 3:00 PM, at the Ogdensburg First United Methodist Church, Pastor Jenni Piatt and Pastor David Piatt co-officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Eel Weir. She is survived by her sons, Arthur John Giltinan of Texas, Michael Giltinan of Ogdensburg, Clifford Giltinan of Florida, Kathleen L. Giltinan of Massena, Patricia L. and husband Jeffery LaRock of Vermont, a sister Orpha and her husband Irving Rosenbarker of Newark Valley, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Albert Latham and a grandson Jason Weaver. Hazel was born on February 14, 1924 in Elizabeth Town, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Arthur and Lavinia Brister Latham. She graduated from Morristown High School in 1937; in 1974 she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Potsdam. She married Robert Nelson Giltinan on October 14, 1944, the marriage ended in divorce. Hazel was a library clerk at the Ogdensburg Public Library for 27 years until her retirement in 1981. While living in Florida she was a supply clerk at Pan American Airlines. She was a member of the American Association of University Women and a past member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
