Lloyd Benson Compo

Lloyd Benson Compo, 83, of Lisbon, died on November 1, 2013, at his daughter's home. A funeral mass will be on November 7, 2013, 2:00 PM at Notre Dame Church, calling hours will be 3- 6 PM at the funeral home, November 6. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Born, August 28th, 1930, son of Napoleon and Christine Billings Compo. He attended Ogdensburg Schools, and then joined the Marine Corps, October 12, 1948. He served four years, when he returned, he worked at Diamond National Plant until it closed, and then he worked for United Helpers Nursing Home for 10 years until he retired.He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Barbara and Thomas Sherry, two grandsons, Thomas Benson (Kathy) Sherry, Vacaville, CA, Richard Bennett Sherry, Eureka, CA, two great grandchildren, Sierra and Rouke Sherry of Vacaville, CA, his companion of 23 years, Beverly Green ( she passed on 11/3/2013), her children, Jim and Lori Green, Barb and Dick Durkin, Melody and Chris Hess, Lynn and Don Lucas, Patti Mountzouris, their children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 28 years Rosalie Rivers Compo in 1978 and his sister Lottie Merria in 2004.He enjoyed gardening, fishing, card games and golf. He and Beverly traveled in their retirement.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley or the Marine Toys for Tots in his name.
