Nita Phillips died on Sunday November 6, 2022
She was quite a character. She was hilarious right up to the end. Her facial expressions and the stories that she told always had us in stitches. She loved country music and babies. Her final request was a root beer float. She had so many surgeries over the course of her lifetime that she said her body looked like a roadmap, but still she lived to be 90 years old.
She was beautiful and proud, and a meticulous housekeeper. Her home always looked like she might be expecting the Pope to visit at any minute. If you want to know the secret to her long life, well, it wasn’t hard work because she didn’t work very hard and it wasn’t healthy eating because she didn’t eat all that healthy. It wasn’t regular exercise because she didn’t exercise much at all, except maybe her pointer finger.
Maybe it was love; she was married to the same man, Roger, for 72 years, bless his heart. They had nine children together: Gail Ward, Linda Holt, Mary Lou Dupont (Yves), Steven Phillips, John Phillips (Norma), Michael Phillips, Julie Chambers (Don) and Angela Bergeron (Shawn). One daughter Annette died in infancy.
Nita had 18 grandchildren, dozens of great grandchildren, hundreds of great- great grandchildren and even some great- great -great grandchildren.
